AHHH~!!! WHATS UP????? IM LEARNING SO MANY CRAZY THINGS TODAY!!!!!!!!! I wonder what the new system "ToneCheck" would interpret from my excessive use of punctuation and my capital letters? Today I learned that there is a new plug-in that is similar to a "spell check" feature but it actually checks the "tone" of your e-mail to make sure you aren't unintentially sending the wrong message in your text.
ToneCheck, developed by Canadian firm Lymbix, works with Microsoft Office to monitor your e-mails for potential disasters. I definitely get where the concept comes from because I find myself frequently re-reading e-mails and trying to make sure I'm not accidentally coming across rude or pushy, or more often, overly energetic. I can't help it that I view using exclaimation points as ending the sentence with a smile!!!! :) I wish I was kidding.
ToneCheck claims that e-mails are interpreted incorrectly 50% of the time, which I find totally believable. It reminds me of the time I got a facebook message from a friend I hadn't seen in 5 years saying...
"Wanna grab some lunch tomorrow? Or maybe an afternoon snack? I'll be out and about running errands. Maybe we can hook up. let me know."
Maybe the tone check would have let my friend know that was possibly too-much "friendly" for a casual lunch invite . :)
Anyway, I am thinking about downloading the 30 day free-trial period. If I do, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes!! Have any of you tried it?? (
