The Big Bang Dilemma

Today I had quite a decision on my hands: bangs? or no bangs? I haven't had anything resembling bangs since my freshman year of high-school when this older hair stylist was trying to make me hip (says: "hip"...read as: "a lesbian") and cut my hair so short it spiked in the back. Ya. Anyway, I didn't learn anything interesting about bangs so this is sort of beside the point, but I feel like including it anyway. So I sent a text message to a few of my friends and I also put out a tweet asking people whether or not I should get bangs and I just want to share the responses. It is incredible how a simple "yes or no" question can be answered in such a variety of ways. Below all the comments is where you will find out what I learned today.

Lizzie: "Should I get bangs?  Yes or no?"

1) "No bangs. We wanna see that pretty face."

2) "I think you could pull them off"

3) "Lets bang"

4) "You don't have bangs right now?"

5) "For you? I think you have the personality to pull it off. That chick from 500 Days of Summer rocks it well. But Getting a new job is a big change. It may make you feel like making other major changes. Before you do it, you should let the impulse ride out and see if its still there."

6) "Bang it out gf"

7) "...I wouldn't do it..."

8) "I've wanted you to get bangs again ever since you got rid of your bowl cut in 3rd grade! You looked so cute!"

9) "Probably no bangs..."

10) "Totally! Try something new!"

11) [x-rated]

12) "I don't care."

I found these responses to be a great overall representation of the people in my life. Haha. Like I said, what I learned, has nothing to do with bangs but it IS something I have wondered about before. I never knew that "towheaded" meant blonde. I have heard it multiple times in reference to children "my towheaded son did _____ " and I have never been able to figure out what it means. Of course, I've never looked it up, but today I finally did. It basically means naturally platinum blond (like children are, rarely adults hair is still that same level of blonde). I NEVER would have guessed that's what it meant. I always kind of figured it meant stubbord or something along those lines. Who knew.

Oh yeah, and I went with mini-bangs. I'm such a wimp!!
